Music has been his constant companion since early childhood. In addition to piano lessons and a variety of vocal ensembles at school, at the tender age of ten he joined the children’s chorus of the Oper Frankfurt. Thus it came as no surprise when he co-founded his first barbershop quartet “Halftones” in 2004. From their very first participation in the German barbershop championships in 2008, the Halftones thrilled their audience in a variety of competitions. In 2013 they took the title of European Barbershop Quartet Champions; soon afterward they won two silver medals at the vokal.total International A Cappella festival in Graz.
In recent years Lucas was able to further develop his skills through various advanced training courses. His development was especially shaped by attending in Harmony University in Nashville – as a guest in 2016, as a participant of the Quartet College with “Maelstrom” in 2017, and in the Coaching Apprentice Program for the “Singing” category in 2018. For several years Lucas has intensified his activities in classical vocal music as well, where he is a member of several elite ensembles.
Since earning his Ph.D. in electrical engineering Lucas has been a lecturer at MINT-Kolleg Baden-Württemberg.

Mareike (Meise)

Having been educated in the children's choir of the Bavarian Philharmonics I founded my first a-capella ensemble when I was 18. In 2005 I joint the current BinG! Champion Harmunichs women’s chorus in Munich winning my first gold medal with them in 2006.
For more than 5 years I have been one of the Vocal Teachers for the Harmunichs taken on the responsibility of vocal warm-up and skill building. Furthermore I teach new members about the specifics of the Barbershop style. In 2014 I joined the Sweet Adelines Region #31 member No Borders Show Chorus. As part of the presentation team I was responsible for designing the chorus’s show package for the 2018 Sweet Adelines Harmony Classics competition which won the ‘Most Entertaining Performance’ audience award.

As coach I would like to help you to develop an authentic performance and bring out the individual sound of your ensemble. To support you in finding your own free voice, I focus mostly on the specifics of the English language and American pronunciation. They way we (non-native speakers) have learned English and mimic the pronunciation has an influence on our sound and the overtone spectrum of our voice, as well as the richness of sound (resonance) and synchronization in ensemble singing. The words and lyrics of a song combined with the harmonic composition and melody line also tell us a lot about the meaning of a song. Therefore, I focus a lot on language to help create both, a natural and rich sound, as well as a story to touch the audience’s heart.
